St. Ives + Delicatessen

Living in NYC definitely has its perks. I followed an art gallery instagram (artworldnyc) which gives brief descriptions, dates, admission rates, and location of fun and interesting galleries, pop-up shops, or food.

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon in the middle of July, I decided to spend the day in the city with my boyfriend. Most of the time we go without any plan until we get there, so I decided to check out one of the featured events from artworldnyc, which was a St. Ives pop-up shop. For those who never heard of St. Ives it is a skin care brand sold in most drug stores. It is known for its apricot scrub, which is amazing for oily skin. It’s cheap, works better than most scrubs I have tried, and smells good, too.

The shop was very vibrant and energetic. There was a tiny mirrored room where you could take pictures and videos with giant apricots and a mixing bar, where you could customize your own scrub or body lotion using natural ingredients for $12. In addition, there are a couple sinks in the back to test out the products and a free sample vending machine, where I got a deluxe sized sample of Skin Renewing Collagen Elastin Body Lotion.

Afterwards, we went to one of my favorite restaurants in the city called Delicatessen, which has a trendy American theme. It is mostly known for their truffle fries and mac n’ cheese side dishes.

Following the day we went to Coach House, which is a fashion brand known for its leather goods, to meet up with my boyfriend’s sister. We all then met up with my brother and sister.

I decided to record this day because this is my very first blog post and I have always enjoyed creating and editing videos since I was about 10. I have a good camera I got as a gift so I thought this blog would give me a reason to get more use out of it.

I hope whoever sees this enjoys. Please leave any feedback and I would love to respond!
